There are no specific minimum or maximum ceiling height requirements in india in a general sense However, as per the national building code (nbc) of india, the minimum clear height for habitable rooms should not be less than 9 feet. Limitation of areas and heights of buildings are regulated by specifying floor area ratio (far) or floor space index (fsi) and ground coverage. Be surrounded by walls or partitions, and each such wall or partition’s surface must be coated with a smooth impervious material to a height of at least 1.0 m above the room’s floor.
