It will check if dell command update is installed and if it is, it will run it and install all available updates
If it's not installed, it will look for the dell command update msi and silently install it and then run it silently. Just call dell command update That has command line options to do it all in the background and it will pick up the drivers for practically any dell system I haven't had it fail yet.
Just make sure it's not dell command universal updates bc that program will say all drivers are up to date when they aren't It needs to be dell command update without the universal. The dell cli commands set to configure how to run the updates, auto download and install, at which time (select by day, week or month to scan and update) Last which is important and test is how it will act afterwards, reboot with a timer or deferral restart.
Hey all, i do end user it for my organization and once or twice a month, a user's dell command update application will become unresponsive
This problem occurs due to the dell client management service becoming disabled. We're a 90% dell shop and i'm trying to change our current system of driver installs via ts osd to using dell command update but it seems any placement i put the step in, it finishes the osd without a domain join and no software installed The machine also finishes without drivers installed including network adapter Looking at the logs it seems to finish after the last winpe restart then.
Hey all, we are pushing out dcu universal through intune It works great but we noticed that on quite a few machines, the start menu shortcut for dell command update just isnt there Our techs use the gui for troubleshooting purposes so i would like to get this fixed. Just discovered today that dell command update has admx group policy templates
